In my opinion, the Council's efforts are designed to improve the quality of life for all residents, and Sylvan Lake should thrive on the engagement and support of its people.

The Council plays a crucial role in fostering this spirit by implementing initiatives and ideas that cater to the needs of the community. This includes enhancing local infrastructure and promoting social programs.

Enhancing Local Infrastructure

One of the primary responsibilities of the Town Council is to ensure that the infrastructure in Sylvan Lake is well-maintained and meets the needs of its residents. This includes roads, parks, and public facilities. We have to take care of our streets and ensure that they are safe and well maintained.

Sylvan Lake is known for its beautiful beach and park areas. We need to ensure these spaces remain enjoyable for everyone.

Supporting Local Businesses

Supporting local business is so important! The services we all need and the jobs we use to feed our families. Creating initiatives to support and promote these enterprises is key to a stronger Sylvan. By supporting local business we strengthen our local economy and create a vibrant community.

Promoting Social Programs

We are a social place to live! Promoting social programs that enhance and connect us is key to moving forward together. Community outreach, council transparency, town hall meetings, youth and sports programs are all important ways to support and grow.

Establishing outreach programs aimed at connecting with residents and addressing their needs is a must!

Environmental Initiatives

When you live in a town with one of the most amazing beaches around, environmental issues are so important. Clean waters and beaches, clean drinking water, healthy practices will all help us have a better quality of life in Sylvan. Sustainability has to be a key focus for the Town Council. Some of the ways we can promote green practice is to continue with curbside recycling, community clean up days, community gardens and growing and protecting our green spaces. I also love the pathways that run from one side of the town to the other - promoting walking and biking instead of driving.

Residents should attend town meetings as much as possible, to voice their opinions and stay informed about local issues. Dont be afraid to ask questions and bring some ideas.
